Operators usually speak multiple languages, including English.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Provide first aid<\/strong> if possible and safe to do so.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Give the operator the following information:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Location of the incident (address, landmarks).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type of emergency (e.g., car accident, fire, sudden health issue).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number of people affected and their condition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your contact details.<br><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>If medical help is needed:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can go to the nearest Emergency Room (Urg\u00eancia) in a public hospital.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It\u2019s recommended to have the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) if you are an EU citizen and not yet a resident in Portugal (there will be a co-payment by your home country)<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can call the SNS 24 number: 808 24 24. This is a really important number that can help you in a lot of situations. They can talk with you in english also, and you can have the opportunity to talk with nurses and tell them your symptoms.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In case you have an emergency during the day and you need a fast medical consult you can go to the \u201cCentro de Saude\u201d where you are enrolled. You should be starting a queue at 7 in the morning and wait to have a \u201cSenha\u201d (ticket) and wait for your turn to see a doctor.
