The 13th district of Marseille

Located in the north-east of Marseille, the 13th district (le treizième arrondissement) has a residential and calm atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. At the outskirts of the city, it appeals to families, students at the local technical colleges, and professionals looking for a quieter lifestyle still within easy reach of key hubs.

A residential atmosphere

The 13th district has a varied architecture: there are traditional houses, modern villas, and also more recent apartment blocks. It therefore caters to different types of residents, from young couples to large families.

Château-Gombert: a rapidly-evolving area

The Château-Gombert area is one of the best-known hubs of the 13th district. It is home to the Marseille Technopôle, a site dedicated to research, innovation and start-ups, particularly in the scientific and technological sectors. The presence of this hub attracts students, academics and professionals to the area.

The area also feels green and very close to nature, with many hiking trails that wind through the surrounding hills.

Why choose the 13th district?

  • For its calm and distance from the commotion of the city centre.
  • For its quiet, residential areas, ideal for families.
  • To be near the technopole, if you work or study there.
  • To be close to nature and enjoy the trails and green landscapes all around.
