Welcome in Marseille !

Finding accommodation in Marseille can seem difficult at first sight, but with some good advice, the right tools, and a bit of organizing, it’s manageable, especially with the help of your Youthful guide!

Whether you’re a student, visitor or new resident, we’ve got everything you need to know covered, not only for finding somewhere to live to suit your budget and needs, but also for exploring the city of Marseille.

Marseille: From accommodation hunting to urban exploration

To help create this Youthful survival guide, we carried out a survey which included specific questions to understand the challenges encountered by young people in Marseille when searching for accommodation. From 76 answers, analysis enabled us to identify clear trends in both ways of looking for accommodation and preferences in terms of districts.

Discovering Marseille: an eclectic city!

Marseille is officially organized into 16 official districts and 111 neighbourhoods.

Every district has a particular identity and atmosphere. The city centre is the most lively, bustling area, whilst other districts offer a more residential quality of life.

As a newcomer, getting to know the city can help you to understand its structure and choose accommodation suited to your needs.

Whether wandering along the Vieux-Port (Old Port), exploring the area of Le Panier, or enjoying the Prado beaches, Marseille is full of unmissable places that give it its charm. You can find out more about them in the section ‘Settling In’.
