Transport Card
Getting lost walking through the streets of Lisbon is fascinating but can sometimes be tiring because of the steep climbs and descents.
Fortunately, the city is well equipped with public transport that connects every part of the city to allow us to reach every magnificent corner comfortably.
The cheapest and easiest way to travel on public transport in Lisbon is the Navegante card.
This is an electronic card with a chip that can be recharged. It has to be validated on the sensors at each access, it is individual and you can easily find it in all metro kiosks, vending machines, tobacconists and newspaper vendors.
It can be reloaded with the following tickets:
- Carris/Metro 1h ticket allows you to travel on the entire Carris network (buses, trams, elevadores) and Metro for an unlimited number of journeys within 60 minutes of first validation. The ticket price is €1.85.In some cases the 1-hour ticket can still be purchased on board the means of transport in a paper version at a slightly increased cost.
- Day tickets (24 hours) Carris / Metro: price €6.80; they allow unlimited travel within 24 hours on the entire bus, tram, metro and elevadores network. 24 hours validity is from the first use.
